April 2012

We don't know where the time goes!! One minute its Xmas and then suddenly Easter has been and gone!!

Hope you love the pictures on our gallery pages, Darren spends a lot of his time being knocked over by the dogs as they run at him, they seem to know that he is taking photos!  If we haven't taken a picture of your pet, please let us know when you drop them off and we will do our best to oblige.

We have installed a new booking system onto the computer so bear with us while we get used to using it.  The front sheet that goes outside the kennel/chalet is much better and complies fully with data protection.

Our food is selling well and seems to be very popular with our guests.  Please note  that the bags of Premium Complete are now 12kg  but the price has remained the same.  There has been no change to the working dog foods.  We are now selling Copperhill Dog Treats (as well as giving them out at bedtimes!) and they are 99p per bag.  We do Meaty Strips, Denta Stix, Training Treats and Spirals.

We are filling up rapidly for the Summer holidays so get your dates in quickly to prevent having to go onto our waiting list.  We will be busy from the beginning of June to the end of October.

As you will see from our Home Page Picture, we have a new addition to the family.  His name is Mowgli and he is a standard poodle with a white chest.  We lost Othello in November 2011 and Trinity really missed him so we decided to get a puppy!  He loves all dogs and you will see him on many of the gallery photos playing out with your dogs.

Please remember that we need proof of vaccination,  to include kennel cough for the dogs before we can allow entry to Copperhill.  If you are unsure of what is required please speak to your vet or give us a ring.  We will not accept your animals for boarding if vaccination cannot be proved.

Over the next few weeks/months we will be painting the walls of the kennels, re-concreting some of the outside runs, putting up more fencing and hopefully putting a new floor in the office/kennel kitchen/grooming parlour.

Its always lovely to hear your compliments on the kennels when you arrive but we also need to know if anyhting is wrong.  Feedback is always good to have!

Thank you all for your continued support and letting us borrow your loved ones for short periods of time!!

News Letter

Greetings

Here is our second newsletter!

We have finished the re-tiling of the kennel floor in the corridor and the smaller kennels. The kennels look much smarter and are so much easier for us to clean every day. Darren has fitted draught excluders to all the hatches so that the kennel block stays much warmer during the night.

We keep a selection of different sized red coats in stock so that if your dog suffers from the cold during the day we can wrap them up for you when they are playing out in the orchards.

Most of you that have been to see us recently will have noticed the new fence and gate at the front of the property. We have also been clearing the front area so that you can see the dogs playing out in the orchards when you come into the kennels. There will be more fencing going up during the winter and eventually a brand new big gate.

We have also fitted double glazed front and back doors to the kennel block. Not only does this give us extra security but it also makes a difference to the temperature inside. With the new roof (thickly insulated), tiled floors, draught excluders and new double glazed doors, the kennel block now warms up beautifully when the heaters are on in the cold.

Over the next few weeks Darren will be fitting a small kitchen unit in the middle of the kennel block. This will give us storage for the detergents, gloves, towels etc that we need to use on a daily basis.

Our next steps are to paint the kennel walls and edging, put up a music system and fairy lights and generally make it feel more homely! This may have to wait for the warmer weather as we don’t want to send your doggies home with stripes of paint on them!!

Please remember to read the new terms and conditions of boarding, you can view these on the website, request a printed copy from us or read them on the back of the booking form. When you sign your booking form, you are signing to say that you agree to our terms and conditions. Please also remember that entry to Copperhill is dependent on a record of vaccination which includes kennel cough.

We hope you all have a wonderful Xmas and Happy New Year

Darren and Juliet

SEPTEMBER 2011 NEWSLETTER

Posted on 28th September, 2011

Greetings from Darren and Juliet

We hope that you all like the new website and now that the summer madness is out of the way we hope to keep you in touch with changes at Copperhill with a monthly newsletter.

It has been a hectic two years since we took over the business, lots of faces to meet and get to know as well as trying to improve the kennels and cattery.

So far we have replaced the kennel roof, as you are all no doubt aware it has now got skylights and is very well insulated to keep your pets warm in the winter and cool in the summer.  Lots more light in the kennels to enable us to see whats going on and to keep it prisitine clean.  We have redecorated the office, introduced Copperhill Pet Foods, chopped down some fruit trees (to stop the dogs munching on plums!), painted walls, gravelled drives, introduced new storage areas for bedding and foods, employed Premier Pest Services to do a monthly check on vermin control, built a new website, along with many other small projects!!

The major project for this winter is to re-tile the floor in the kennel block.  The tiles have now been delivered and once the kennels start to become quieter we will commence the re-tiling.  The kennels will also be repainted during this time.

On a more serious note we would like to draw your attention to the new terms and conditions of boarding.  We will now require all dogs to be vaccinated against Kennel Cough as well as their normal annual booster.  We will endeavour to include some important information about Kennel Cough on the website very soon.

We have also introduced a couple of new products in Copperhill Pet Foods.  We now stock a chicken and rice small bite for our little guests and a white fish and potato with allergy x for dogs with sensitive skin.

Finally a big thank you to all our regular mums and dads for supporting Copperhill and also for the recommendations to your friends and acquaintances.  Hope you like all the pictures that we take during the year to show you that your pets CAN enjoy their kennel stay!

PS  Remember Remember the fifth of November!!!  We are generally quiet during November and Copperhill is in the middle of nowhere, so if you have a pet that dislikes fireworks, why not consider boarding with us overnight!
